Sometimes it surely is fun to be taking photos of yourself doing silly faces and nice faces too.
It's not just the youth, but the trend is catching up even among the oldies as everyone wants to capture every bit of their moments on their phones, which will then preserve it till eternity.
However, this so called trend of 'new joy of photography' can be a tragedy for you as many people have lost their lives while taking a selfie.
As per a report from Mashable, more people have died from selfies than shark attacks this year. The death toll due to selfies has rose to 12 around the world in 2015 against eight deaths caused by shark attacks.
The latest victim being a 66-year-old Japanese tourist, who died after falling down stairs while attempting to take a selfie at the Taj Mahal, and his travel companion also got injured.
Four of the selfie deaths this year, like the tourist, identified as Hideto Ueda, were caused by falling, the report added.
In July, the Russian Interior Ministry released a brochure, warning about cool selfies that 'could cost you your life', urging selfie-takers to take precaution with weapons, ledges, dangerous animals, trains and live wires.
