According to a report released by the Google Trends, Delhi leads the list of 'porn searches' on the internet, followed by Pune, Mumbai, Howrah, Unnao, Kuala Lumpur and Bangalore.

The Google Trends data also revealed most of the searches involving animal porn were from Pune, followed by New Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore.

Meanwhile, since 2008, netizens from Kolkata, Howrah, New Delhi, Ahmedabad and Pune mostly search for ‘rape porn’.

While the internet search giant didn't provide absolute search volume, the data also revealed that most number of searches for ‘child sex’ were from Unnao, a small town in Uttar Pradesh.

Cryptography specialist Ajit Hatti, also a security examiner and founding father of Null, India’s largest open security community, believed that while the data is correct, it is incomplete.

“There are countries like China, Russia and North Korea that do not use Google or have extremely limited usage. Then in countries like United States and United Kingdom, many use different search engines,” he was quoted as saying to a leading English daily.

“We do not know English well. People in developed nations, instead of searching for the word porn, directly go to a porn site.”

“But many in India search for the word porn or sex and then click on the link that appears. This adds to the numbers on the Google Trends List,” he added.
