New Delhi: Have you ever wondered how much does a cloud weigh? As per research, an average cumulus cloud weighs an incredible 500,000 kg (or 1.1 million pounds!) - the equivalent weight of 100+ elephants - a lot more than you think right!
Clouds may look so light and fluffy, but the fact is that they are actually quite heavy. But the reason why cloud doesn't fall on your head although it weighs tons is because the droplets that formed clouds are so small and can be spread out over miles.
What are clouds?
Clouds are made up of tiny water droplets or ice crystals if it's cold enough that live high in the atmosphere above the surface of the Earth.
