Islamabad: Pakistan`s Interior Ministry on Wednesday said the separatist outfit claiming responsibility for a bombing at a fruit market earlier in the day was "ridiculous" as investigation so far found links to "somewhere else". In a statement issued late evening, the Interior Ministry said initial probe has revealed that United Balochistan Army has no links to the bomb attack.
"It is surprising and ridiculous to see that organisation taking responsibility. The investigation done by government security and intelligence agencies shows that this incident is linked to somewhere else," the Ministry spokesperson said without identifying who they suspected.
The Ministry said the security agencies will go after whoever is responsible for the blast.
The United Balochistan Army had earlier claimed responsibility for the blast and said the blast was carried out in retaliation to the operation being carried out by security agencies in the restive Balochistan which has so far killed over 30 suspected militants.
A powerful bomb ripped through a fruit market in Sector I-11 on the outskirts of the Pakistani capital today and killed at least 23 people besides injuring over 100 others.
