At least 71 people were injured when the explosion rocked Multan city on Sunday.

All the dead have been identified and none of them was a suicide bomber, Dawn online quoted regional police officer Tariq Masood Yaseen as saying.

"The blast was not a suicide attack and the person who was being suspected as suicide bomber was a passerby," he said.

Another police officer Tariq Waheed said a remote control device was used in the blast.

About seven to eight kg explosive material was used in the blast, he said.
