Pakistani internet sensation Qandeel Baloch stirs controversy by clicking selfie with Mufti Abdul Qavi
Pakistan`s Ministry of Religious Affairs on Wednesday suspended Mufti Abdul Qawi`s Ruet-e-Hilal Committee membership.
Islamabad: Pakistan's Ministry of Religious Affairs on Wednesday suspended Mufti Abdul Qawi's Ruet-e-Hilal Committee membership for taking selfies with Pakistani internet sensation Qandeel Baloch.
The Mufti got into trouble when Baloch posted three selfies of herself with Qavi on her Facebook page.
In one of the photos, the self-proclaimed model and singer is seen posing with Mufti's hat on her head and in another picture she is seen sitting next to Qavi.
Baloch has apparently said that Qavi had invited her to meet him in a hotel for 'iftar', as per media reports.
Also, the model has supposedly claimed that he 'proposed' to her during the meeting and that he had publicly professed his liking for her.
Meanwhile, Qavi has said that it was Baloch who had requested the meeting and had wanted lessons from him.
At the same time, Qavi said that he had made it clear to the model that he would meet her only if she would keep all Ramzan fasts.
“I am president of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf’s ulema wing, that is why Qandeel Baloch extended her wish to meet me as well and I called her to the hotel,” Qavi was quoted as saying to reporters.
Baloch had hit headlines when she had proposed to strip for Pakistan cricket team if they beat India at the World T20 tournament.
She was also in the news when suddenly India's Virat Kohli became the apple of her eye.
