The image shows a composite view of the Crab nebula, "an iconic supernova remnant in our Milky Way galaxy," as seen by Herschel and the Hubble Space Telescope.

NASA released this image following the announcement that the pop music superstar had died at the age of 57 in Minnesota.

Prince's 1984 album "Purple Rain" is often described as one of the greatest of all time.
