Zee Media Bureau/Himanshu Kapoor Chennai: Ahead of the Lok Sabha election, CPI-M and CPI have decided to call off their alliance with AIADMK in Tamil Nadu. Both parties will fight the upcoming General Elections alone in Tamil Nadu. The alliance between AIADMK, CPI and CPI(M) collapsed due to lack of consensus between the parties on the seat allotment only a month after the agreement to fight the Lok Sabha polls in Tamil Nadu.
Jayalalithaa had then announcing the tie-up said that the party “expects that this alliance would be very successful.”
According to PTI report, Jayalalithaa was firm on not accepting the demand for three seats each by CPI and CPM, and offerred only one seat each.
Meanwhile, the DMDK on Thursday announced that the party has decided to contest the General Elections in alliance and is in talks with BJP. However, the party did not elaborated on the number of seats that it will bargain with the BJP for the upcoming polls.
