Chennai: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa's infection is under control and she can leave the hospital whenever she feels fit, Apollo Hospitals chairman Pratap C Reddy said on Saturday.

Giving details about AIADMK supremo's 'health condition, Reddy said: “There is no fixed date as to when the Tamil Nadu CM will be discharged, depends upon her. She has to reinvigorate herself to go back.”


Jayalalithaa was admitted to the Apollo Hospital on September 22 after she complained of fever and dehydration.


Later, the hospital had said she was being treated for infection with respiratory support among others.


The last bulletin on Jayalalithaa was issued on October 21 where it said she continued to be under treatment and observation for all vital parameters, respiratory support and passive physiotherapy.


According to Apollo, a team of specialists like cardiologists, respiratory physicians, consultants for infectious diseases, diabetologist and endocrinologist was treating Jayalalithaa.
