Mau: A local court has ordered attachment of properties of four accused in connection with murder of a rape victim two days before she was to appear in a court as witness in her case.

Chief Judicial Magistrate Achal Pratap Singh had issued non-bailable warrant (NBW) against the accused. The court ordered attachment of their properties on the basis of police report in which the investigating officer said that the accused were trying to evade arrest and dispose of their assets.


The 18-year-old rape victim was shot dead by motorcycle-borne youths in Baijapur village in Dakshintola area on Sunday, two days before she was to appear in a court as witness.


The girl was raped on June 6, 2011, allegedly by BK Singh, manager of a college, police said.


Two accused Ram Nagina Singh and his son Akash Singh have already been arrested and sent to jail, police said.


FIR was registered against seven persons including BK Singh, his son Jaywardhan SIngh, Ranjit Singh, Mathura Rajbhar, Nagina Singh and Akash Singh and one unidentified person, it said.
