Faridabad: Eid-ul-Fitr was celebrated in Atali village here peacefully with some people from the Hindu community greeting their Muslims brothers.

People in large numbers offered prayers, hugged each other, exchanged greetings and shared food at the village which had witnessed clashed between the two communities.


Social activist Swami Agnivesh visited the village in the morning and greeted people, and urged them to reinstate an environment of brotherhood and unity.


Former transport minister Aftab Ahmad also took part in the mediation.


Some Muslims were seen wearing black badges while offering prayers. When asked, they said they were protesting the injustice against the minorities.
