Heavy rainfall lashes most parts of UP
With monsoon becoming vigorous over Uttar Pradesh in past 24 hours, moderate to heavy rain and thundershowers occurred while very heavy rainfall drenched isolated places over the western region.
Lucknow: With monsoon becoming vigorous over the Uttar Pradesh in the past 24 hours, moderate to heavy rain and thundershowers occurred at most places in the state while very heavy rainfall drenched isolated places over the western region.
According to local Met office, chief amount of rainfall recorded in cms are:-Saharanpur-20, Narora, Hapur-16 each, Nakur-15, Anupshahr, Sawaispur(Hardoi)-14 each, Meerut-11, Dharurahra, Mawana-10 each, Paliakalan, Kasganj, Aligarh-09 each, Sidhauli, Deoband, Jalesar-8 each, Ankinghat, Akbarpur, Basti-7 each.
The Met department forecast that rain and thundershowers would occur at most places in the state and there is likelihood of increase in rainfall.
Meanwhile, with heavy rainfall and water being released in the barrages, most of the rivers have registered an upward trend, it said. PTI
