"I have decided to join BJP. The main reason for my joining politics is that I have understood during my social activities that there is an immense need for support of a strong political party to work more effectively and efficiently for the larger social goals", Nutan said.

About the reasons for joining BJP, Nutan said BJP does not have any dynastic politics and had the highest inner democracy among political parties and also it does not discriminate between different classes

"BJP is an all India Party and is based on the concept of Nationality. Very soon I shall be taking formal membership of the Party", she added.

Nutan's husband is suspended IPS officer Amitabh Thakur, who had lodged an FIR against Samajwadi Party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav for allegedly threatening him.
