Later addressing a massive gathering, Modi said that the new medical institute will ensure that quality medical facilities reach people of the area.

The AIIMS hospital is being set up under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana (PMSSY) at an estimated cost of Rs 1,011 crore.

The hospital will have a capacity of 750 beds and also include emergency or trauma and AYUSH sections.

The Prime Minister also reopened a sick fertiliser plant after 26 years.

On the reopening of the fertiliser plant, Modi said, “It would be wrong to say that work of a factory which was closed for 26 years has been started because of me. If you had not voted for us then this work which was pending since 26 years, still would have been pending.”

“Credit goes solely to you as you are the ones who brought us to power and strengthened our hands,” he said.

On the divide between western and eastern parts of India in terms of development, he said, “If we have to develop India, the chariot of development needs to run on two wheels- Eastern and Western India.”

“Second green revolution is going to happen in eastern India - eastern UP,” he said.

“We decided to give farmers as much urea as they want, but will try to work on shut down factories also,” he added.
