UP Panchayat polls: 100 cartons of liquor seized, 3 arrested
In a drive against illegal supply of liquor ahead of Panchayat polls, officials of the excise department seized 100 cartons of liquor near Bhalwa police checkpost on Khatoli Jansath road in the district.
Muzaffarnagar: In a drive against illegal supply of liquor ahead of Panchayat polls, officials of the excise department seized 100 cartons of liquor near Bhalwa police checkpost on Khatoli Jansath road in the district.
"A team of excise department intercepted a truck and seized 100 cartons of illegal liquor last evening," District Excise Officer Kurendra Singh told reporters today.
Three people -- Anil, Rahul and Ravi -- were arrested in this connection, he added.
Meanwhile, police also seized 600 bottles of liquor from the house of a woman candidate in Ramraj area of the district last evening and arrested her husband and son for allegedly supplying liquor.
