New Delhi: The woman who has filed a sexual harassment complaint against a senior Uttarakhand government official on Monday sought support from the National Commission for Women and the National Human Rights Commission alleging that she was facing life threats from police.
In her letter to NCW, the woman appealed for security while seeking strict action against the main accused, Uttarakhand Additional Secretary (Home), JP Joshi. "Today, the victim has moved NCW and NHRC stating that the accused bureaucrat has filed a false and frivolous case against her in order to pressurise her into settling the matter," said Amit Sahni, the counsel for the woman.
"We may file a Transfer Petition in Supreme Court for transfer of the case as a fair investigation is not possible in Uttarakhand," he added. The woman had on November 22 lodged a complaint against the senior IAS officer at Pandav Nagar police station here alleging that she was sexually exploited by the latter on the pretext of providing her with a government Job.
