The fire broke at a bungalow in Sunhe Township in eastern Beijing's Chaoyang District. Eight persons were killed and five others injured in the fire, state-run Xinhua news agency reported.

The bungalow is a private masonry-concrete strucure house built by local villagers. The fire occurred as Beijing was hit by the coldest temperatures in years. A probe has been launched into the case.
