Singapore: A special Parliamentarian sitting will take place on Thursday for MPs who will pay tribute to the late Mr Lee Kuan Yew.

The 11 MPs include Leader of the House Ng Eng Hen, Senior Minister of State (Law and Education) Indranee Rajah and Opposition leader Low Thia Khiang.


After the tributes, the House will observe silence for a minute to pay homage to the founding Prime Minister of the nation.


91-year-old Lee succumbed to pneumonia in Singapore's General Hospital on March 23.


Lee's body is currently resting in Parliament until Saturday and the funeral will be held on Sunday.


Lee, who governed Singapore for 31 years as PM since 1959, was known for his fierce leadership skills and is credited with transforming the former British colony to a financial powerhouse.
