The blast took place just after the bomber entered the gate of the police station, Xinhua news agency quoted Inspector General Condro Kirono as saying.

Riding a motorcycle, the bomber detonated the bomb just after a police officer stopped him. The blast killed the bomber and seriously wounded the police officer, he said.

There was no a report of damage at the police station.

The Indonesian Intelligence Agency said the bombing was allegedly carried out by the Islamic State terror group.
