Nicholas Degregorio was excited to be a part of the marching band on Memorial Day but was devastated after the parade got cancelled due to bad weather.

Memorial Day is observed in US in honour of its military men martyred in active service.

His mother Mary Degregorio, said that they then drove along the parade route with Nicholas playing the trumpet out the window for all to hear, as per media reports.

They ended up at the memorial by Nicholas’ elementary school, where a woman approached them asking if the parade was still on.

The woman told the Degregorios that her father was on the way behind her.

Nicholas then volunteered to play ‘You’re a Grand Old Flag’ on his trumpet after learning that the woman’s father was a World War II disabled veteran.

The World War II veteran (identified as Chris Iannacone and in a wheelchair) is seen in the video responding happily to the tunes.
