Lhasa: Two earthquakes measuring 5.3 on the Richter scale hit Tibet on Sunday.

According to the China Earthquake Networks Centre,the first quake occurred at 9.48 a.m. in Dinggye county, Xigaze city, Xinhua news agency reported. 

The epicentre was monitored at 28.36 degrees north latitude and 87.6 degrees east longitude, with a depth of 10 km, the centre said.

The second quake at 10.05 a.m. in Tingri county was monitored at 28.41 degrees north latitude and 87.59 degrees east longitude, with a depth of 6 km. 

There were no reports of any damage or injuries.
