Illinois: An Uber driver who may have picked up fares during a weekend killing spree was formally charged with six counts of murder in the US state of Michigan on Monday.
Jason Brian Dalton, 45, sat stony-faced in an orange prison jumpsuit, thick glasses shielding his downcast eyes, as a judge read the charges against him in a Kalamazoo court. Dalton appeared via videoconference from the jail.
Prosecutors said they were still trying to determine why Dalton began firing -- seemingly at random -- as he drove through Kalamazoo Saturday night.
He was also charged with two counts of assault with the intent to commit murder and eight gun offenses.
