Kiev: A stern warning was issued by Ukraine`s interim President, Olexander Turchynov, to Russia on Thursday after pro-Russian armed men seized control of parliament and government buildings in Crimea region.
Turchynov warned Russia against any military aggression in the region after armed gunmen hoisted Russian flags on top of the Parliament and the buildings. Russia is currently holding military exercises with its fighter jets patrolling the border areas, the report stated.
Meanwhile, US has warned Russia against military intervention in Ukrainian crisis.
Former president Viktor Yanukovych issued first public statement since his ouster stating that he was compelled to ask Russia to ensure his security in the wake of recent development.
