Over 5,000 Yazidi women were captured and taken as slaves by ISIS terrorists during an attack on the city of Sinjar, northern Iraq in August 2014. The women were later sold into sexual slavery. While many still remain in the custody of jihadis, some have managed to flee.

Among those who escaped from Islamic State's clutches and have come out to share with the world the horror they witnessed is 18-year-old Amal.

Amal recalled how ISIS terrorists took 14 members of her family to Sinjar and then Tal Afar after capturing them on August 03, 2014, the Daily Mail reported.

Amal, who was separated from her family after a while, said: “The worst thing I saw was the killings in Sinjar. I saw so many corpses on the road; it was terrible. The saddest thing I remember, during those terrible months, was this little girl, 12 years old. They raped her without mercy.”

She managed to flee after 11 months in captivity.

Iraqi female photographer Seivan Salim has managed to talk to some of the women who somehow escaped.

After being abducted on August 15, 2014, the 21-year-old Perlia managed to flee 10 months later. She, along with 400 other girls, was taken to Syria by bus.

She was sold again and again until she found a chance to flee from Raqqa.

The 28-year-old Rooba was sold to a 40-year-old man from Saudi Arabia in Raqqa, Syria. “He asked me to marry him and when I refused, he pointed to three objects placed on his table - a knife, a gun, and rope. He said he'd use all three if I didn't say yes. I refused over and over again, so he beat me. He beat my niece, who is only 3-year-old.”

She was sold twice later. “In the new house I did all the work: cleaning, cooking and washing. The man who bought me said that he had to sleep with me to make me a real Muslim. I told him that if he slept with me I would become his wife and then I would not be a slave any more. His wife threatened to leave if he slept with me. She got very angry at my niece because she couldn't speak Arabic: she put pepper in her mouth and locked her in a room without water; she beat her so much you can still see the wounds today.”

ISIS “gifted” the 18-year-old Nasira to a Saudi family as a slave, the Daily Mail reported.

Last year, a 17-year-old Yazidi teenager stunned the world with her story on how she and her little sister were raped daily by the jihadis after they were sold into slavery at an auction of virgins -- and she revealed she is now pregnant with an extremist's baby.
