Surat results: BJP wins local body elections

Surat: The Bhartiya Janata Party has won a majority in the Surat Municipal Corporation results 2015.

While there are 38 election wards under the corporation, the number of councillors stands at 114.

Surat Municipal Corporation came into being in 1966 under the provisions of the Bombay Provincial Municipal Act, 1949.

One of the fastest growing cities in India, Surat is also one of the cleanest cities in India and is known for its trade in apparels and diamond.
