Moderate intensity earthquake jolts Meghalaya
Shillong: A moderate earthquake measuring 4.7 on the Richter scale hit Meghalaya on Monday morning. Officials at the Regional Seismological Centre here said the epicentre was at a depth of 60 km in remote East Garo Hills district.

Earlier in the day, medium intensity earthquake of magnitude 4.5 hit Jammu and Kashmir on Monday, India Meteorological Department said. There was no immediate report of any injury or destruction in any part of the state.
