New Delhi: Actress Sridevi's sudden demise sent shock waves across the nation. Bollywood's first female superstar breathed her last on February 24, 2018, in Dubai where she had gone to attend the wedding of her nephew Mohit Marwah. Her ashes were immersed in Rameshwaram and in the Ganges at Haridwar.

According to a report published on India today, a prayer meeting for the late actress will be held in Chennai. The prayer meeting will take place on March 11 at Hotel Crowne Plaza in Adayar.


The report stated that Boney along with daughters Janhvi and Khushi Kapoor will be present there along with some of Sridevi's friends from the Tamil film industry, who are expected to attend the prayer meeting.


Recently, people from Telugu film industry hosted a condolence meeting in Hyderabad. Actresses Jayasudha, Jaya Prada, Amala Akkineni, Nivetha Thomas, actors Jagapati Babu, Rajashekar, Krishnam Raju and singer P Susheela attended the meet and reminisced about the times they worked with the late actress. 


Sridevi was cremated with full state honours on February 28, 2018, in Mumbai's Pawan Hans crematorium.
