Addressing the media, Additional Director General of Police B. Sandhya said: "The main chargesheet has already been filed and now it's the conspiracy angle that is being probed. The probe is going on in the right direction."

Sandhya is coordinating the police probe team.

The main charge sheet has implicated Pulsar Suni as the prime accused. He is in judicial custody along with his accomplices.

The police probe team has listed out a few names from the film industry who are suspected to be behind the kidnap and is expected to serve notices to these people to appear before the probe team.

Suni was produced before a local court here on Tuesday morning as his remand period got over. He told the waiting media that big sharks are involved in the case.

The conspiracy angle surfaced ever since superstar Dileep, his close aide actor-turned-director Nadir Shah and manager Appunni were questioned for 13 hours last week. There is speculation that they might be asked to come in for another round of questioning. A few others from the film industry are also likely to be summoned.

Among those likely to be called include the present wife of Dileep - actress Kavya Madhavan, her mother.

The police probe team had reached the business place of Madhavan last week but is yet to see her or her mother.

Trouble started for hugely popular actor Dileep last month, after his name surfaced in a jail inmate's letter on the case. The inmate shared the cell with prime accused in the kidnapping episode Pulsar Suni, who is believed to have shared details of the case with him.

During his marathon questioning, Dileep claimed he did not know Suni. But police has established that Suni was at the shooting location of Dileep's film in November at Thrissur. On Monday, the pictures of this were out on TV channels.

While Suni and his accomplices were arrested within a week of the kidnapping in February, police stumbled upon the conspiracy angle last week. Besides, pressure has mounted on the police after the Congress party sought a CBI probe into the case, while the BJP has also expressed displeasure at the ongoing probe.

Meanwhile, anger has been expressed by various people from the political and film field at the manner in which the Association of Malayalam Movie Artistes (AMMA), led by CPI-M supported Lok Sabha member, was alleged to have taken a stand supporting Dileep at its last week's meeting.

Innocent is the president of AMMA, which has two Left legislators Mukesh and K.B. Ganesh Kumar.

"AMMA has failed to do a just and fair job. The way the whole meeting progressed and the manner in which the stars addressed the press meet clearly indicates that things are not that smooth in AMMA," said Kollam Lok Sabha member N.K. Premachandran.
