And if the latest buzz is anything to go by, the hunk of an actor will be given a fee of Rs 5 crores for the 15-minute act.

Yes, you read that right. And the organisers of the event felt only he would be ideal for the act.

According to a report in India.com, Hindustan Times quoted a source as saying, “He will be shaking a leg for about 15 minutes, but the organising team was always clear that they wanted Ranveer as a performer and that’s why he has been offered such a huge amount.”

“His appeal cuts across cities, age-groups and has an equally big fan following among men and women. That’s why the organisers felt that he is the perfect fit for the performance at this year’s IPL opening ceremony.”

Ranveer is indeed going places! The actor, who began his career by playing a boy-next-door in Yash Raj Films' Band Baajaa Baarat, is now one of the most sought-after artistes in the Tinsel Town. He has a couple of interesting projects in his kitty and we can't wait to watch him on the silver screen again.

After his Alauddin Khilji act in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Padmaavat, Ranveer will be seen as a rapper in Zoya Akhtar's Gully Boy and a police officer named Sangram Bhalerao in Rohit Shetty's Simmba.

He also has Kabir Khan's film titled '83 based on legendary cricketer Kapil Dev.
