KK death: Musician AR Rahman pens heartfelt tribute to late singer
Police have registered a case of unnatural death and started an investigation. As a part of the probe, officers have spoken to the hotel authorities and scrutinised CCTV footage.

Oscar and Grammy winning composer AR Rahman has penned an emotional note for his 'buddy' KK, who passed away after performing at a college in Kolkata. Rahman took to social media to mourn the death of the 'gifted singer', who was put to rest on Thursday.
"Dear KK ..what's the hurry buddy... gifted singers and artists like you made this life more bearable..#RIPKK," Rahman wrote.

Amul India released a new topical that paid tribute to renowned Bollywood singer Krishnakumar Kunnath, popularly known as KK. The official Twitter account of Amul posted the black and white topical on its page on Thursday. It features two animated sketches of the singer performing for the audiences, accompanied with the words, "Yaaron...Yaad aayenge yeh pal. Alvida, KK 1968-2022."
The caption on the post read, "Tribute to popular playback singer...".
Singer KK passed away in Kolkata late on Tuesday night. He was 53. He was in the city of joy to perform at a function in Nazrul Manch organised by the Gurudas College.
KK's wife Jyoti and their son Nakul were seen at the cremation ground with their relatives. According to reports, the last rites for singer KK, whose real name was Krishnakumar Kunnath, began at the Versova Hindu Crematorium on Thursday afternoon. They were performed by his son.
Others who were seen included singers Shreya Ghoshal, Shankar Mahadevan, Abhijeet Bhattacharya and Rekha Bhardwaj were seen at the cremation ground, where KK's mortal remains were taken for cremation.
A slew of Bollywood personalities such as Javed Akhtar, Vishal Bhardwaj, Alka Yagnik among many others were seen in bidding an emotional goodbye to late singer KK, who was cremated in Versova on Thursday.
Singer-composer Pritam couldn't attend KK's last rites due to Covid-19.
VISHAL BHARDWAJ'S EMOTIONAL TRIBUTE TO KK
Filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj penned an emotional note to singer KK, mourning his untimely and sudden demise. He wrote: Mera chhota Bhaiyaa. Hum saath aaye thay dilli se. Humara pehla break pehli film pehli kaamyaabi ek saath- MAACHIS (Chhodh aaye hum wo galiyan. He also sang the 2nd music in Lata ji’s pani pani re) Anginat lamhe.. anginat yaadein.. Bepanah dard.. Bichhdey sabhee baari baari..
Musicians like Shreya Ghoshal, Salim Merchant, Alka Yagnik, Rahul Vaidya, Javed Ali, Papon, Shantanu Moitra and Sudesh Bhosale paid their tribute to the singer at his residence.
The last rites were performed by KK's son Nakul, who looked inconsolable. The 53-year-old singer's filmmaker friend Vishal Bhardwaj with his wife Rekha, filmmaker Ashoke Pandit, Javed Akhtar, Shankar Mahadevan, Udit Narayan, Abhijeet Bhattacharya and others attended the funeral.

Kolkata Police officials found Antacid strips in KK’s hotel room. Police’s investigation has revealed that KK had gastric-related issues and would pop gastric-related medicines often. Before the concert, KK had reportedly told his wife that he has pain in his shoulders and arms.
Histopathological report is awaited which will reveal more details.

KK death LIVE updates: Popular Bollywood singer Krishnakumar Kunnath aka KK breathed his last after his live concert in Kolkata's Nazrul Mancha auditorium. He was on a two-day tour to the city to perform at two college programmes respectively. The case was lodged with New Market Police Station under whose jurisdiction falls the five-star hotel where KK had put up and felt unwell before being taken to a hospital on Tuesday night. He was 53.
Preliminary findings of the post-mortem conducted on the renowned Bollywood singer KK's death indicated that he died due to a cardiac arrest, a senior police officer said on Wednesday. His mortal remains reached Mumbai after he was accorded a gun salute in Kolkata in the presence of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, who consoled the late singer's wife Jyothi Lakshmi Krishna and children.
