Mumbai: Ram Gopal Varma has courted trouble once again. The filmmaker, who offended many people by making a sexist remark through his tweet on the occasion of the International Women’s Day on Wednesday, had a heated exchange of words with NCP leader Jitendra Awhad on Twitter.

Reacting to RGV’s tweets, NCP leader Vidya Chavan on Thursday said that they would try to beat him with shoes if he doesn’t apologise for his remark.


According to an ANI tweet, Chavan said, “He should apologise for his remark, if he doesn't we will try to beat him with shoes.”


To the uninitiated, RGV took to Twitter Thursday to write: “I wish all the women in the world give men as much happiness as Sunny Leone gives (sic).”


Slamming RGV over his sexist tweet, Awhad tweeted: “@RGVzoomin apologies or face the consequences we dnt mind taking law in hand (sic).”







RGV even poked fun at Awhad. He tweeted:




However, the filmmaker seems unaffected by the backlash. On a related note, according to an ANI report, Film Studio Setting & Allied Mazdoor Union with 52,000 members decided to boycott Ram Gopal Varma for his controversial tweet on Women’s Day.
