Hours after the pop star and actress revealed she underwent a kidney transplant earlier this summer due to complications from the autoimmune disease lupus, she was spotted back at work on the New York City set of her upcoming Woody Allen movie, reports Entertainment Weekly.


No details have yet come out about the untitled movie or about Gomez's character.


The 'Same old Love' hit-maker will star alongside with a cast that includes Jude Law, Diego Luna,Liev Schreiber, Timothee Chalamet, and Elle Fanning.


The singer disclosed her recent kidney surgery in a heartfelt Instagram post yesterday.


She wrote, "I'm very aware some of my fans had noticed I was laying low for part of the summer and questioning why I wasn't promoting my new music, which I was extremely proud of. So I found out I needed to get a kidney transplant due to my Lupus and was recovering. It was what I needed to do for my overall health. I honestly look forward to sharing with you, soon my journey through these past several months as I have always wanted to do with you."


She also revealed that the donor was her close friend Francia Raisa, an actress known for her roles on Dear White People and The Secret Life of the American Teenager.
