Shabana Azmi shares throwback pictures from Cannes, when it was not about `clothes` but `films`!

New Delhi: Veteran Hindi film actress Shabana Azmi is an avid social media user and often shares old, vintage photos on her Twitter handle, keeping the fans happy.

Just as the buzz of Cannes Film Festival can be felt everywhere, we came across some pictures shared by the notable actress a month back. The throwback pictures are from Cannes in the year 1976 when Shabana Azmi, Smita Patil's 'Nishant' was screened there.

Classic director Shyam Benegal can also be seen along with the two veteran actresses. Shabana Azmi's caption with the pictures speaks volumes about how the way we look at film festivals today.

She wrote: “In Cannes1976 for Nishant in official section.The simplicity of it all. Film was important not the clothes!”

Indeed true, today the focus has taken a paradigm shift to what one is wearing from which film is being screened.
