New Delhi: The world is smitten by the magnanimity of maverick filmmaker SS Rajamouli's vision in 'Baahubali 2'. Each and every character in the 'Baahubali' franchise—part 1 and 2 left a huge mark in the memory of viewers.
The film and its reel characters have got a rousing reception from the people not just in the country but across the globe as well. So when reports about veteran actress Sridevi refusing a role in 'Baahubali' popped up, speculation went rife whether it's true or not.
Basically, it was rumoured that Sridevi was the first choice to play Sivagami's role in 'Baahubali' which later on went on to Ramya Krishnan. Although the latter one did a fab job in her part, rumours about why Sridevi rejected the role refused to die down.
According to dnaindia.com, in an interview with Rajeev Masand, when asked if she has seen the magnum opus yet or not, the 'Mom' actress replied saying that she has not seen it. She added further, “But I would like to talk about this. It has become such a big issue and people are imagining things (as to why I have said no the film). I have my own reasons. First of all two parts of Baahubali have come out, and now they are asking me. There are many films, I refused. Why are they not talking about it? Why only this film? I will go there and talk about it.”
Sridevi will next be seen in a thriller 'Mom' which is hitting the screens on July 7, 2017. The film is directed by Ravi Udyawar and stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Adnan Siddiqui and Sajal Ali in pivotal parts.
