New Delhi: Bollywood's rising star Varun Dhawan recently got trolled for showering his support to Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 'Padmavati'. The film is embroiled controversy as some fringe groups are protesting against its release nationwide.
After Meerut youth announced Rs 5 crore bounty for beheading actress Deepika Padukone and Bhansali, Haryana BJP Chief Media Coordinator Suraj Pal Amu made another shocking statement saying that 'We'll reward the ones beheading them, with Rs 10 crore and also take care of their family's needs.”
It is shocking statements like these that have irked the Bollywood stars to no limit. So, like a true blue supporter, Varun took to Twitter and slammed such bizarre statements. He tweeted: “Shocked!!! This is not protesting this is threatening. If this was a sportsmen or an important businessman being threatened...I wonder what would have happened?”
It was after this tweet that he got trolled online by a user but shut him up like a total boss. Padmavati features Deepika in titular role Rani Padmavati, Shahid Kapoor as Maharwal Ratan Singh and Ranveer Singh as Alauddin Khilji. The film release has been delayed and the new date of the venture hitting the screens will be announced shortly.
