New Delhi: The Rs 2000 notes, which were so far available only through banks, will soon be disbursed through ATMs too. The Economic Affairs Secretary Shaktikanta Das, on Mondy announced that more ATMs are getting recalibrated to disburse new Rs 2000 notes, and it is expected that recalibrated machines will begin disbursing these new notes in the next two days or so.

This may be good news, but remember that conmen and scammers have already started taking advantage of the little-to-no-knowledge about the new currency to the common man.

Chikkamagaluru town police have registered a complaint under Section 420 (cheating) of the Indian Penal Code, and are on the lookout for the culprits. A man traded the Rs 2000 note in APMC mandi.
