Northern Railway has decided to revive the historic 100-year-old Lucknow Mail, originally from the British era, in a new and updated form. The train now runs daily between Lucknow and Delhi, receiving a warm response from passengers.
The train departs from Lucknow Charbagh station at 10:00 PM and arrives in Delhi at 6:55 AM the next day, covering the journey in approximately 9 hours.
Passengers can book sleeper class tickets starting from August 28th for journeys beginning on August 29th. The train will offer a comfortable and nostalgic travel experience.
To ensure passenger comfort, the railway has introduced ultra-soft, breathable, and durable linens for sleeper class passengers. This move is in response to common complaints about the previous bedding being uncomfortable.
The new linen service began on a trial basis starting August 14th. Based on passenger feedback, the railway will consider expanding this service further.
