Many leaders faced defeat, with Congress, favored by most major polls, left lamenting what could have been. In contrast, the results in Jammu and Kashmir mostly matched predictions.
Iltija Mufti
PDP candidate Iltija Mehbooba Mufti, daughter of Mehbooba Mufti, lost the Srigufwara-Bijbehara seat to Bashir Ahmad Shah Veeri of the NC. She conceded defeat after her rival gained a substantial lead during the counting, ultimately losing by 9,770 votes, according to the Election Commission of India.

Jammu & Kashmir BJP unit chief Ravinder Raina has lost from Nowshera assembly seat in the Rajouri district. He was defeated by National Conference's Surinder Kumar Choudhary, who won by a margin of 7,819 votes, according to Election Commission data.

INLD leader Abhay Chautala lost the Ellenabad seat of Haryana, facing a significant defeat to Congress candidate Bharat Singh Beniwal, who won by a margin of 15,000 votes.

JJP leader and former Deputy CM Dushyant Chautala was defeated in the Uchana Kalan assembly constituency of Haryana, resulting in a loss of influence in the Jat-dominated area.
