Big Yumm! Tamil Nadu exhibits coronavirus-themed cakes to raise awareness - In Pics

A month-long cake exhibition is being held in Tamil Nadu's Coimbatore with the intention of raising awareness against coronavirus. With this as the theme, the organisers hope to appeal to people's sweet tooth while making the point that COVID guidelines should be followed at all times. In Pics

"The exhibition will continue for 30 days with 40 varieties of cakes based on different themes," said the organiser of the cake show Vijayalakshmi.

"Themes include gratitude to doctors, creating awareness regarding common precautionary measures like washing hands and maintaining social distancing and the most important one is urging people to get vaccinated," said Vijayalakshmi.

The visitors, too, appreciated this unique way of creating awareness loving the different types of cakes based on the animated version of coronavirus. These cakes depict handwash, sanitiser and masks to promote their use during the pandemic.

"This is a good way of creating awareness among children, as reports suggest that the third wave is likely to hit children. This way they can understand easily," Sahana, a visitor said.
