S Sreesanth to Mohammed Shami: Top cricketers booked in police case, in pics
Shanthakumaran Sreesanth has recently announced that he will be back in Ranji Trophy representing Kerala. Sreesanth is not the first cricketer against whom a police complaint has been filed and even served time in jail. In these compilation of pics, we take a look at top cricketer against whom serious police complaints have been filed.
S. Sreesanth
Shanthakumaran Sreesanth was imprisoned in Tihar jail for nearly a month in 2013, along with the other two Rajasthan Royals players, Ajit Chandila and Ankeet Chavan, for their alleged involvement in spot-fixing. Sreesanth was earlier handed a life-ban for spot-fixing which has subsequently been overturned by Supreme Court and the paceman is now free to play in professional cricket. (Source: Twitter)
Ben Stokes
Ben Stokes was arrested in the early hours of 25 September, 2017, after a night out with England teammates to celebrate victory over the West Indies in an international match earlier in the day. Stokes has since been acquitted of all the charges. (Source: Twitter)
Mohammed Shami
Team India paceman Mohammed Shami was booked in a police case on the complaint of his wife Hasin Jahan. Hasin charged Shami with domestic abuse as well as match-fixing. Former Australia and Kings XI Punjab batter Luke Pomersbach is currently facing charges for stealing golf clubs, clothing, and jewellery in the areas in South Perth, Scarborough and Woodlands in Australia.
