Punjab assembly ruckus leaves staff with broken arm
The marshals, including a woman, alleged that one of them ended up with a fractured arm.
Chandigarh: Even as opposition Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Thursday accused assembly marshals of attacking its legislators, including women, the watch and ward staff filed a complaint with house authorities that they were attacked by the lawmakers.
The marshals, including a woman, alleged that one of them ended up with a fractured arm.
In a written complaint, assembly staff Amanjot Singh said he was on duty when AAP legislators tried to advance towards Speaker Rana K.P. Singh`s chair while shouting slogans.
"When the AAP legislators were being taken out, they attacked security staff and fractured Amanjot`s left arm," the staff claimed.
Another marshal Harjit Kaur complained to the Speaker that an AAP legislator hit her on the shoulder and her shirt`s buttons came off.
