SHOCKING! Man damages newly inaugurated Nagpur-Bilaspur Vande Bharat Express by throwing STONE at train
The newly inaugurated Vande Bharat train suffered damage on its new route after an unidentified person hurled a stone at the window of the semi-high-speed train, reports PTI.
An unidentified person threw a stone at a windowpane of the recently inaugurated Nagpur-Bilaspur Vande Bharat Express train in Chhattisgarh, an official reported on Thursday. The event happened on Wednesday evening when this semi-high-speed train was travelling to Bilaspur in the state between Durg and Bhilai Nagar railway stations under the Raipur division of the South East Central Railway (SECR), he said.
"Somebody hurled a stone at the train from outside, which caused damage to a window of the E1 coach last evening. But nobody was injured in the incident," the official said. The Railway Protection Force (RPF) was informed about it, and a probe was initiated, he added. The Vande Bharat Express train between Nagpur in Maharashtra and Bilaspur in Chhattisgarh, the sixth such service in the country, was flagged-off by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday.

The train on the Nagpur-Bilaspur route is covering a distance of 412 kms on the route with a speed of around 130 kmph. It takes the train 5 hours 30 minutes to cover the distance with 6 stoppages at Nagpur, Gondia, Rajnandgaon, Durg, Raipur, and Bilaspur.
The new Vande Bharat train on this route has got 16 chair-car coaches with a capacity to carry 1128 passengers. Moreover, the train is loaded with features and has got cameras on board for passengers' security, with multiple amenities.
The Nagpur-Bilaspur Vande Bharat express train is the second train in the state of Maharashtra and the sixth one in India. Before this, there were 5 trains on various in India. Between Delhi and Varanasi, the inaugural Vande Bharat Express began operation. The first semi-high-speed railway in the country also provides service to Kanpur and Allahabad. The second Vande Bharat train was launched between Delhi and Shri Vaishno Devi Mata, Katra. There is now a third train running between Mumbai and Gandhinagar. The fourth Vande Bharat Express, which travels from Una in Himachal Pradesh to New Delhi, was also dedicated by PM Modi.
