From early morning, people trooped to the SMS Stadium to do yogic exercises. "Enthusiasm was great, but the number was a bit less than last year," a government official told IANS.

Vasundhara Raje, her cabinet colleagues and senior officials took part in the event which lasted for nearly 30 minutes.

The day was also observed in other districts of Rajasthan. The event was marred by heavy rains in Udaipur.

Prisoners at the Jaipur Central Jail also did yoga `asanas`, an official said.
