Woman set on fire for refusing marriage proposal in Rajasthan
The victim`s father also said that he had lodged a complaint regarding Ravi`s harassment but authorities didn`t take any action.
Jaipur: An 18-year-old woman in Rajasthan was on Monday reportedly set on fire for refusing a marriage proposal.
The incident took place at Isarvla in Rajasthan's Banswara district.
The victim, Seema, was attacked in her home by a man and his father, following which she was admitted to MG Hospital in Banswara with 75 per cent burns.
She is currently in a critical condition in a hospital in Udaipur.
As per the victim's father, Seema had rejected the proposal of a man named Ravi. Agitated by this, the man along with his father committed the crime.
The victim's father also said that earlier he had lodged a complaint regarding Ravi’s harassment but authorities didn't take any action.
An FIR was registered in the hospital police station and an investigation is underway.
