The space station crew that is a part of Expedition 48/49 will be completing 115 days in space, since their launch in July.
New Delhi: Another International Space Station (ISS) crew is all set to make their way back to Earth on the morning of October 29 (Eastern Standard Time).
The space station crew that is a part of Expedition 48/49 consists of NASA astronaut Kate Rubins, astronaut Takuya Onishi from the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency and cosmonaut Anatoly Ivanishin of the Russian space agency Roscosmos, who will begin their descent to Earth soon, thereby completing 115 days in space, since their launch in July.
Of course, last minute checks are mandatory, which is why NASA shared an image of Kate Rubins winding up her preparations for the journey back home, while conducting routine spacesuit leak checks inside the Soyuz MS-01 spacecraft.
NASA's live coverage of the entire descent – from the undocking to the landing – will begin at 8:37 pm EDT Saturday, October 29, 2016, and land in Kazakhstan at 11:59 pm (9:59 am October 30, Kazakhstan time).
Together, the Expedition 49 crew members pursued hundreds of experiments in biology, biotechnology, physical science and Earth science aboard the orbiting laboratory.
