According to a report on Sportskeeda, Bhowanipore Club's off-spinner spun a web around Mohammedan Sporting batsmen in a Cricket Association of Bengal’s (CAB) First Division two-day playoff match.

Chatterjee picked up three wickets in his first over and went on to grab another three with his next eight balls.

The Jamtara-born cricketer ended with figures of 0 for 6 in 2.2 overs, falling short of the former East Bengal pacer Shyam Sundar Ghosh’s record of 7 for 0.

Ghosh's impressive performance had come in the CAB First Division knock-out match against Deaf and Dumb almost five decades ago.

“Everything went as per my plan and I could not hope for a better finish. I hope to hold on to this and win matches for Bengal. Hopefully, one day I will able to play for the country like many aspiring cricketers,” said young Writtick after the match.
