Thiruvananthapuram: The camapaign to issue Unique Identity Numbers (UID) to people under the `Adhar` scheme has been progessing well in Kerala having already made 62 lakh enrollments so far, according to Chief Minister Oommen Chandy.
"Kerala appears to be ahead of most other state in implementing the scheme with the state government providing all support to it", Chandy said in reply to questions in the state assembly today. He said the government did not subscribe to the view that UID was an attempt to encorach into the personal details of the citizens and that it would be threat to their security and safety, he added.
