Social security cards in BJP manifesto
Social security cards for under-privileged, Rs 5,000 in bank for Class V girl students are among the promises made by BJP to woo voters.

privileged, Rs 5,000 in bank for Class V girl students and an
ambitious master plan for drainage are among the promises made
by BJP on Sunday to woo voters for next Sunday`s Delhi municipal
elections.
Assuring a more transparent and accountable system, BJP, the ruling party in the undivided Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD), also assures simplification of the process of getting building plans and bye-laws by ending "inspector raj and corruption" by introducing an online system.
To woo voters hailing from Bihar, the party promises to make Chhat pooja a holiday besides providing washrooms and changing rooms in pooja sites. For senior citizens, widows and disabled, the BJP talks about hiking monthly pension from Rs 1,000 to Rs 1,500 and increasing the number of beneficiaries from two lakh to three lakh. Elderly people will also get recreation areas in every ward.
Releasing the party manifesto, BJP national vice president M Venkaiah Naidu alleged that Congress suffers from credibility crisis as they did not keep their promises on the issues of regularisation of unauthorised colonies and flats for slum dwellers.
"They have not kept the promises. Congress does not have the moral right to seek votes. They are destroying the country. We would not allow that. See the performance of BJP in the MCD for the past five years and vote for us," Naidu told reporters.
The manifesto, a single one for the three bodies, also assures that the party, if voted to power, will regularise unauthorised colonies and make them habitable with proper drainage, roads and lanes, parks and schools among other facilities. A master plan for drainage is another promise by the party which says that it will conduct a scientific survey to prepare it and accordingly the system will be rectified to obtain a free flow of liquid waste and its disposal.
Under its plan `waste to wealth`, the BJP has in mind projects for conversion of garbage into electric power, compost and vitrified tiles.
To woo underprivileged section, the party announced that it will introduce social security cards for unorganised sector including rickshaw pullers, vendors, taxi drivers, domestic workers and daily wagers.
The card, it said, will enable them to have access to facilities like insurance and medical care.
Specifically for rickshaw pullers, the party promises schemes for converting mechanised rickshaws into battery operated rickshaws with ownership rights to the rickshaw pullers.
Promoting girl child`s education, the manifesto talks about depositing Rs 5,000 in bank accounts of all girl students on reaching Class V in corporation schools.
It also promises of constructing 100 underground eco-friendly multi-level parking lots, youth centres with gym, reclaiming three landfill sites to earn more revenue, development of a medical college in Rajen Babu Institute of Pulmonary Medicines and Tuberculosis and conversion of tarred toads to cement concrete roads.
A single window system will be established to provide industry, shop and establishment licences.
The party will also strive for `Mayor-in-Council` system so that councillors have the authority not just formulate policies but also implement them, the manifesto said.
The BJP also promised that it will ensure that pension to retired employees will be credited in their accounts on time and the facility shall continue for the dependants after the demise of an employee without the necessity of any person visiting the Corporation office.
