New Delhi: Ajit Chandila's hopes of resuming cricket suffered a massive blow on Monday after BCCI's disciplinary committee imposed a life ban on him for his role in IPL spot-fixing.

He made his first-class debut for Haryana in 2010 and was signed by Delhi Daredevils the following season.


Playing for Rajasthan Royals in 2012, Chandila bagged a hat-trick against Pune Warriors, with the wickets of Sourav Ganguly, Jesse Ryder and Robin Uthappa.


Chandila has 24 wickets from 28 T20 matches to his name.


 


Chandila was arrested by the police for trying to spot-fix IPL games in 2013 along with his then Rajasthan Royals teammates S Sreesanth and Ankeet Chavan who have been banned for life by the BCCI.


Chandila last played an IPL match on May 9, 2013 against Kings XI Punjab.
