According to a report in The Times of India, Manish has stated that he has performed well in limited-overs format in domestic cricket as he has applied himself more in recent years.

Pandey, who is known as a T20 batsman for his elegant stroke-play, claimed that although there is an image of him being a T20 specialist, it is high time he proves himself in ODIs too.

Pandey will fight for a place in the Indian starting XI with Gurkeerat Singh in the absence of axed Suresh Raina and it presents him with a good opportunity to raise his tempo at a higher level.

With Mahendra Singh Dhoni already stating that youngsters will be given chances in the tour, the No. 5 position could be pivotal in handing them a chance in ODIs and Pandey would want to shine in that position if given a chance.

Pandey has played a solitary ODI game in his career for India and scored a well made 71 against Zimbabwe in 2015.
